Quiet Time with Jesus – His Nature

Tuesday, 8 September 2015

Someone said, “Our disappointments are God’s appointments.”

Through our difficulties and suffering, we are re-shaped into the image of Jesus Christ.

The Bible says that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.

Hope does not disappoint us because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us. Praise the Lord!

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers.
— Romans 8:28-29

I do not always obey God and His Word ... I do not always clothe myself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience ... I do not always put on love ... My conversation is not always full of grace …

God is pure and holy. His character is perfect in every way. When I think of God’s holiness, I am convicted …

Who can change me? Thanks be to God – His Word and His Spirit!

My Prayer

Dear Father God,

You are sovereign! You direct each of our lives. Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is Your purpose that prevails. You carefully supervise all that happens. No event escapes Your eye. No person is beyond Your influence. No circumstance exists outside Your control. You rescue us from death. You deliver us from evil.

We are Your workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which You prepared in advance for us to do.

You are the Great I Am! We want to see You as You are. We want to taste of Your goodness. We want to have an intimately close relationship with You.

We do not want to live according to the sinful nature. We want to live by the Spirit, as Your beloved children.

In Jesus’ matchless name I pray!

Lam Yee Ling

Father, not my will but Yours be done. Amen.
