Quiet Time with Jesus – God’s Fellow Workers

Sunday, 9 August 2015

When we pray, it does not mean we have no faith. When we have faith, it does not mean we don’t pray.

When we trust God, it does not mean we cannot share our thoughts. When we share our thoughts, it gives God the opportunity to speak through us.

What did Paul say?

What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe – as the Lord has assigned to each his task. I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.
— 1 Corinthians 3:5-9

What did Paul acknowledge?

To this end I labor, struggling with all His energy, which so powerfully works in me. I want you to know how much I amstruggling for you and for those at Laodicea, and for all who have not met me personally. My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
— Colossians 1:29 - 2:3

What do I say?

God’s rainbow is in the clouds (Genesis 9:13), His yoke is easy and His burden is light (Matthew 11:30).

My Prayer

Dear Father God

I pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ – all who are weary and burdened, let us come to You, and You will give us rest. Let us take Your yoke upon us and learn from You, for You are gentle and humble in heart, and we will find rest in our souls. For Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light. Amen.

Let our hearts be ignited; Let our spirits be united; Let us see Your heart, and know Your desire; Let us yield to Your Spirit and set the Church on fire. Hallelujah!

Amen!

Lam Yee Ling

Father, not my will but Yours be done. Amen.
