Quiet Time with Jesus – Peace

Saturday, 29 August 2015

Some people see God in the cloud. Some people see God in the rain.

Some people see God in their joy. Some people see God in their pain …

God is everywhere. His creation tells us of His amazing love whether it is a sunny day or a rainy day. He created it.

We have a tremendous treasure in nature. God reaches out to us in every wind that blows, every sunrise and every sunset, every cloud in the sky, every flower that blooms and every leaf that fades.

One day, I saw a flower falling from the top of a tree, twirling in the air and landing gracefully onto the ground. The ground was covered with lovely pink flowers.

Sometimes, the flowers are yellow. Sometimes they are white. Regardless of the colour, it was a picture of beauty and peace. The presence of God is fullness of joy and peace.

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge.
— Psalm 19:1-2

My Prayer

Dear Father God,

No matter what season or what environment it is, we can see the beauty of Your creation and Your peace. Your peace is visible. The gentle sound of waves produces music and rhythm to our ears. Your peace is audible.

Indeed, Your presence is everywhere. Your presence delights us. Your presence comforts us.

Help us to enjoy Your presence. Draw us near.

Speak to us in the wind. Let us hear …

Your words are comforting. Your touch is reassuring.

Help us go beyond our thinking and imagination. Help us go beyond ourselves and be firmly placed in a secret place – resting in Your presence, listening to Your voice, entering into a deeper relationship never before experienced.

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.
— Psalm 46:10

Lam Yee Ling

Father, not my will but Yours be done. Amen.
