Quiet Time with Jesus – Revelation knowledge

Saturday, 22 August 2015

I was amazed when I read John 1:41-42

Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard what John (the Baptist) had said and who had followed Jesus. The FIRST THING Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus.

What did John the Baptist say?

Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
— John 1:29

What did Simon Peter say?

You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.
— Matthew 16:16

We know that Jesus is the Lamb of God, the Christ, the Son of the living God. This knowledge is not revealed to us by man, but by God Himself. Thanks be to God!

My Prayer

Dear Father God,

Your plan and purpose to redeem man cannot be thwarted. Give us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that we may know You better.

I pray that the eyes of our hearts may be enlightened in order that we may know the hope to which You have called us. May we know the riches of our glorious inheritance. May we know Your incomparably great power for us who believe – that power is like the working of Your mighty strength, which You exerted in Christ when You raised Him from the dead and seated Him at Your right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.

You placed all things under Christ’s feet and appointed Him to be head over EVERYTHING for the church, which is His Body, the FULLNESS of Him who fills EVERYTHING in EVERY way. (Ephesians 1:17-23)

We give You thanks! We give You praise!

Father, not my will but Yours be done. Amen.
