Quiet Time with Jesus - Perserverance

Thursday, 20 August 2015

God cannot give salvation until we ask. Through our asking, God creates. Redemption creates the LIFE of God in us.

God who created us, who formed us, tells us not to fear for He has redeemed us; He has summoned us by name; we belong to Him.

“When we pass through the waters, God will be with us; and when we pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over us. When we walk through the fire, we will not be burned.”
— Isaiah 43:1-2

God’s holy fire burns away impurities; God’s holy fire refines us; Amen!

Sometimes, when things don’t work out, it is because God has a better plan. Sometimes, we need to walk through disappointment so that we can understand.

Every child of God is precious to Him. Even when we are ‘blind’ or ‘deaf’, God perseveres. He reveals. He speaks. Even when we are weak or flawed, God perseveres. He gives strength. He puts things right. He perseveres so that we may witness before a watching world that GOD IS LOVE.

My Prayer

Dear Father God,

Your perseverance amazes me! Even when Your people said, “If only we had died in Egypt!” and “We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt.” (Numbers 14)

You persevere to deliver man from darkness to light, from slavery to freedom. Even when man complain, grumble, rebel and show contempt … You persevere.

Truly, You are slow to anger, abounding in love; You forgive sin and rebellion. Yet You do not leave the guilty unpunished.

O Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name; Your kingdom come; Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven; Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever.

Lam Yee Ling

Father, not my will but Yours be done. Amen.
