Everyone can accomplish natural moral excellence. Many good people do not think they need God because they think they are able to make good decisions, do good works and they will finish well. It is the ‘good’ that opposes the ‘best’.
The higher up the scale of moral excellence a person goes, the more intense the opposition to Jesus Christ.
The natural life is not spiritual … it can be made spiritual only through sacrifice … It is not a question of praying, but of sacrificing, and thereby performing His will.
Someone asked, “Are God’s standards too high?”
When I look upon Jesus Christ, I see consistency and courage; He suffered ridicule and rejection; He was vigilant; He was vulnerable; He was humiliated; He was honored; He was overwhelmed; He has overcome; He was exhausted; He was energized; He was challenged; He conquered; His surrender and sacrifice brought us LIFE. Hallelujah!
Dear Father God,
Once again, I am amazed!
I believe that You lift the standard to seemingly impossible heights. I believe that You also provide the way for us to reach up to Your standard. This is done so that You may be glorified. The impossible becomes possible when we surrender our will to You.
With You and in You, I can become the person You want me to be.
In Jesus’ marvelous name I pray.
Change my heart O God - Vineyard
Change my heart, O God; Make it ever true; Change my heart, O God; May I be like You;
You are the Potter, I am the clay; Mold me and make me; This is what I pray …
