The greatest spiritual blessing we receive is when we come to the knowledge that we are destitute … Our Lord can do nothing for us as long as we think we are sufficient in and of ourselves … As long as we are “rich,” particularly in the area of pride or independence, God can do nothing for us …It is only when we get hungry spiritually that we receive the Holy Spirit.
When we are hungry, our bodies “cry” out desperately for food. Likewise, when we are spiritually “dry”, our spirits “cry” out desperately for “water” … Only God can quench our thirst.
The nature of God is placed in us by the Holy Spirit. He imparts to us the quickening life of Jesus, making us truly alive.
Dear Heavenly Father
We thirst for You! Come Holy Spirit! You are welcome here! Please take what is “beyond” us and place it “within” us. When the “beyond” comes “within” us, we will rise up to the “above”. Hallelujah! Yes, Lord! You have said, “No one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit (John 3:5).
Be Still - David J. Evans
Be still for the presence of the Lord; The Holy One is here; Come bow before Him now; In reverence and fear; In Him no sin is found; We stand on holy ground; Be still for the presence of the Lord; Is moving all around;
Be still for the Spirit of the Lord; Is moving in this place; He comes to cleanse and heal; To minister His grace; No work too hard for Him; In faith receive from Him; Be still for the Spirit of the Lord; Is moving in this place;
Be still for the glory of the Lord; Is shining all around; He burns with Holy fire; With splendor He is crowned; How awesome is the sight; Our radiant King of Light; Be still for the glory of the Lord; Is shining all around …
Glory be to God!
