God is God.
God created man in His image. Man desired and chose to worship someone (in his own physical image) … In seeking God and desiring God, man came up with making his own gods.
Man’s focus: worship and ask the god of his own creation for things which he thinks his god can provide e.g. wealth, protection, even peace.
In order that we may understand, God Himself - came down to earth in the form of a man.
Does that satisfy man in his desire (or need) to worship a god in his own physical image?
Through Jesus, God demonstrated humility and obedience …
Through Jesus, God demonstrated the role of a teacher, healer, provider …
Through Jesus, God demonstrated power and peace …
Jesus aka the Son of God, the Son of Man lived a life of absolute obedience – to the ultimate, optimal point – death – not an ordinary death but - death on the Cross at Calvary. God demonstrated His power. He raised Jesus from death to the HIGHEST PLACE, gave Him the NAME above every name.
Today and every day, I shall declare, “Jesus Christ is Lord! All glory be to God!”
What was Jesus’ purpose on earth? “I have come to do Your will” Jesus said to His Father.
Let us make the same declaration, standing in the same position, and attitude - to walk in the will of God.
Jesus came to redeem man to God. He has FINISHED the task and He has finished well.
I drew a diagram in my journal
God Christ heaven head
God Christians earth body
Teacher, Healer, Provider, Miracle worker …
Disciples of Jesus Christ:
We are one Body with many parts; We are assigned different tasks; No man can completely be like Jesus. But, every man redeemed by the Blood becomes a part of His Body, given a particular task … not my will, but His will be done.
So, together as ONE in Christ, we are commissioned to work on earth until … (only God knows)

From birth to death, Jesus was God’s Servant, though He reversed the sequence found in Psalm 40. He did not move through sacrifice into obedience and the profound spiritual state of being one with God in heart and mind.
YL: But we do - we move through sacrifice into obedience … into being one with God in heart and mind. Hallelujah!
SH: Jesus started out at one with the Father in heart and mind and will: “I have come to do your will.” And then Jesus embraced the Servant’s role – so much so that He became obedient to death on the cross.
YL: From obedience to sacrifice as the Lamb of God crucified on the cross. God provided the Lamb, like He provided the ram for Abraham. Thanks be to God!
Dear Father in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy Kingdom come; Thy will be done – on earth as it is in heaven;
May we pray the same words as the psalmist:
'Sacrifice and offering You do not desire; We are Your servants for life; Burnt offerings and sin offerings You do not require; But, here I am - I desire to do Your will, Father; Your law is within my heart'
Awesome God - Michael W Smith
When He rolls up His sleeves; He ain’t just putting on the ritz; Our God is an awesome God;
There’s thunder in His footsteps; And lightning in His fists; Our God is an awesome God;
And the Lord He wasn’t joking; When He kicked ‘em out of Eden; It wasn’t for no reason that He shed His blood; His return very close and so; You better be believing; That our God is an awesome God;
Our God is an awesome God;
He reigns from heaven above;
With wisdom, power and love;
Our God is an awesome God;
And when the sky was starless in the void of the night; Our God is an awesome God;
He spoke into the darkness; And created the light; Our God is an awesome God;
And judgment and wrath; He poured out on Sodom; The mercy and grace; He gave us at the cross; I hope that we have not too quickly forgotten that; Our God is an awesome God!
Praise be to God! Thanks be to God! All honor and glory be to God!
