Quiet Time with Jesus – GLOW

What is a servant’s most important responsibility?

YL: I am God’s servant. Consider 2 ‘postures’:  I serve in God’s authority and power, filled with the Holy Spirit; I serve in Christ, sanctified by the Word and covered by the Blood;

Truly, we stand in God’s authority and power;

God’s command (His Word) is: Serve wholeheartedly - for His Glory;

Therefore my responsibility is: to listen (to my Master’s voice), to obey (all His commands, not some of His commands), to witness (to the world so that the lost may be found, the sick may be healed, the blind may see, the prisoners may be set free, and the Glory of God may cover the whole earth …)

Above all, I must grow in Christ. Hallelujah!

G stands for grow;

L stands for listen;

O stands for obey;

W stands for witness;

Hearing and obeying God’s word makes peace flow like a river … one of our greatest needs in today’s Church is for a fresh vision of servanthood

Unquote (emphasis mine)

YL: God’s One True Servant was ‘all ears’ to His Master’s every word. Our Lord Jesus is calling and gathering around Him a listening and obedient people …

Does His Servant Jesus have a listening and obedient people around Him?

Let’s search our hearts.

My Prayer

Dear Father God

Forgive me if I am blocking Your purposes and the purposes of Your Son by my failure to listen and obey. Help me search my heart.

Dear Holy Spirit, help me to listen, obey and witness - to the world AND to one another – encouraging and inspiring, accepting and forgiving, loving and blessing one another.

In Jesus’ precious name I pray.

Father, not my will but Yours be done. Amen.
