Quiet Time with Jesus – Our Part

Thursday, 16 July 2015

A dear sister in Christ sent me a prayer request. Her son will be doing his ‘maiden’ jump from plane today … Her desire is for her son to see God’s hand in everything and to know that God cares and God answers prayers. As I prayed, I could ‘see’ a mighty warrior in the making – like David who started his life protecting sheep ... Praise God! I could ‘see’ a mother’s heart – like Mary who carried Jesus in her arms, watched her son going to the cross, suffering and dying on the cross … What was she saying to the LORD? “Not my will, but Yours be done.”

In life, we think we are ‘struggling’ … We might be ‘some body’ in the making. God makes man in His image. Adam failed. God does not give up. He continues to make, to shape, to re-shape – we are like dough in God’s hands – as we play the role of a father, a son, a brother, a friend, a neighbor … a soldier, a commander, a general … a priest, a pastor, a bishop  … a lawyer, a minister, a leader … The list goes on. God has a plan for every man.

God is raising an army. His warriors are not doing the same thing … I can understand why we need the army, the navy, the air force ... I can understand why we need different ministries – education, health, transport … We are one. We need good teachers. We need good doctors. We need a transport system that works … that serves the needs of the people. We need civil defense – the fire fighters. We need the policemen ... We need every man to walk in His BIG PLAN.

My Prayer

Dear Father God

Turn our hearts back to You. Help us to fix our eyes on You. Expand the scope of our vision. See Your Purpose and pray for one an other.

Each one of us may appear small and insignificant but our individual roles are vital and essential in Your BIG PLAN of redemption. Open our eyes. Let us see. Let us play our individual role well. Let us excel as One body – and Your Will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Thank You LORD that You are raising an army. Thank You that You are raising the next generation for battle. Thank You that You are leading.

Help us to walk by faith and not by sight. Truly, truly, it is not by might nor by power but by YOUR SPIRIT.

Come Holy Spirit come!

In Jesus’ mighty name I pray.

Lam Yee Ling

Father, not my will but Yours be done. Amen.
