Quiet Time with Jesus – Reconciliation or Separation

Tuesday, 22 December 2015

No matter how hard we work, how well we perform, or how much we give, it counts for nothing.

The Bible tells us that the only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love (Galatians 5:6b).

On the other hand, any form of disobedience to God is sin. But, God does not want us to transfer ourselves from one prison to another. Let us not be tortured by an invisible Pharisee!

The world sets standards and keeps records. Man tends to raise standards and break records, in pursuit of excellence.

If we keep striving to meet the standard or to break a record, we are inevitably following the world system of life.

God gives LIFE but it is not the kind of life that the world gives.

My Prayer

Dear Father God,

Your love is pure and simple. Your love does no harm to others. Fill us with Your love so that we can love our neighbor as ourselves. You are love. Enable us to walk in love. Our nature is love. Amen.

You were watching when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit. You have given man the freedom to choose. You do not take back Your Word.

Warn us against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen. (2 Timothy 2:14)

Your Word is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword. Your Word penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. Your Word judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from Your sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before Your eyes to whom we must give account. (Hebrews 4:12-13)

Therefore, since we have a Great High Priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus Christ the Son of God, we shall hold firmly to the faith we profess.

We shall come before Your throne of grace with confidence to receive mercy and find grace to help us in our times of need.

Nothing can ever separate us from Your love. (Romans 8:38)

In Jesus’ name I pray.

To Him who is able to keep us from falling and to present us before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy - to the only God our Saviour be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen. (Jude 24-25)

Lam Yee Ling

Not my will but Yours be done. Amen.
