Quiet Time with Jesus – Toilet-roll Testimony

Sunday, 15 November 2015

Bishan LIFE Group has a ‘toilet-roll testimony’ … We can be called a ‘toilet-roll team’ …

Toilet rolls are ‘rubbish' – usually thrown away … they are considered ‘useless objects’

But God can re-use. And with skillful hands and tender hearts, toilet rolls are turned into something beautiful.

If man can turn toilet rolls into something beautiful, God can turn each one of us into something even more ‘beautiful’ than the toilet roll …

It's not magic. It's not instant. It takes the unity of hands and hearts … Some of us, with strong fingers, cut; some of us, with strong arms and backs, paint; one of us fastens, fixes and fits everything together …

I don’t have nimble fingers - the fishing line kept slipping away from my fingers …

and my son’s girlfriend came along … and she took over – tying, burning the fishing line (!)… And I was amazed by her skill; I was even more amazed by God!

The above can be used as a parable, I thought. No! It’s a real story – a story that I’m walking through ...

My Prayer

Dear Father God,

I am amazed by You, again and again and again. Your presence in my life is so amazing and so awesome, so full of joy ... and tears …

I thank You for all the inspiration that you are pouring into my mind … It’s 'my waterfall'.

Waterfall is water falling from above. Ideas are pouring into my head …

It’s a flood of new ideas ...

I thank God for brother Ben Choo. He has lit a 'fire' ... And it’s a fire that people can see; It's not hidden … Oh Father God, use us - all of us - to light up 'fires' for you!

I thank God for misunderstandings and misuse of words – they are opportunities for us to say “I’m sorry. I was wrong.” Five simple powerful words drawing us closer to one another,

building us into one team … we can go through thick and thin. Praise God!

I thank God for our pastor who goes out of the way to pacify us – his grace is beyond description.

I thank God for leaders and staff who also responded and did what was ‘last minute’ with great joy and love.

May we do more for you LORD! We want more of You in us (the church) and we want to do more for You and Your glory – so that the world may see and say ‘they know Jesus’ …

Thank You LORD!

We praise You! We thank You! We bless You!

We love You! We give You all the honor! We give You all the glory!
Amen!

Not my will but Yours be done. Amen.
