Quiet Time with Jesus – To You We Belong

The light of the universe entered a dark, wet womb … Mary didn’t know whether to give him milk or give him praise, but she gave him both since he was, as near as she could figure, hungry and holy.

Joseph didn’t know whether to call him Junior or Father. But in the end called him Jesus, since that’s what the angel had said and since he didn’t have the faintest idea what to name a God he could cradle in his arms.

Don’t you think … their heads tilted and their minds wondered, “What in the world are you doing, God?” Or, better phrased, “God, what are you doing in the world?”

Man continues to sin … but God has not abandoned His children. Never will he leave us nor forsake us. That’s a promise!

My Poem

To You We Belong!

We kneel before You in weakness and shame;
Longing to see You, we call out Your Holy Name;

When Your glory falls, the darkness flee;
Your voice we’ll hear, Your face we’ll see;

You’d never leave us nor forsake us;
You give us life to fulfill Your purpose;

Come and lead us, we will follow;
Through us, Your love will overflow;

Once we were stubborn, we went astray;
Stiff-necked and rebellious, we turned away;

Now in Christ Jesus, we are brought near;
Covered by His Blood, we no longer fear;

Putting off the old self, we pursue peace and righteousness;
Putting on the new self, we can walk in love and godliness;

Living as Your offspring, we are children of light;
Tried, tested, purified and blameless in Your sight;

Unconditional love from You our Father God;
Forgiven, we embrace the joy of the LORD;

Yes! We sing to You a new song!
And forever to You we belong!

Hallelujah! Amen! Thank You LORD!

Not my will but Yours be done. Amen.
