Quiet Time with Jesus – When God Guides

Wednesday, 11 November 2015

At first, we wanted to sell ice-cream floats … After much discussion, we aborted the project.

Then, we started collecting toilet rolls for an art & craft activity for a certain number of children. After we have collected too many, we stopped collecting.

Come 8 November, we were greatly blessed by people who fell in love with our eye-catching Christmas wreaths, beautifully designed by our very own Xynde – probably the one and only lady with this name.

However, due to time constraints, we were unable to make all the wreaths that were ordered prior to 8 November.

On 9 November, we counted and re-counted toilet rolls - numbers were flying between text messages! Finally, we concluded that we needed about 227 toilet rolls for the production of 17 wreaths.

Frantically and desperately, we almost had to go door-to-door …

On 10 November – “Thank God for the public holiday” - we cut, painted and delivered toilet rolls to one another.

At the end of the day (10 November), we counted and recounted again!

The final text was: 6+7+4=17 Praise the Lord!

We want to testify that God is good all the time and all the time God is good!

We want to shout to let the whole world know that:

Hallelujah! Thanks be to God! Glory to God!

My Prayer

Dear Father God,

You are amazing! You are wonderfully amazing! You must be rolling over with laughter - watching us do ‘PSLE mathematics’ and ‘failing’ not once but twice!

At the end of the day, all is well. We give You praise!

We are wonderfully and fearfully made by You. And You know the plans You have for each one of us. And You are working out Your Redemptive Plan through us in unexpected ways!

We are amazed by You!

Your Presence is so real! We wanna shout ‘Emmanuel - God with us!’

Today, I lift up all my brothers and sisters in Christ to You, especially the ones who will be going on missions trips in November. May Your Presence go before us; May Your Presence always be with us; May Your Presence be our rear guard; May Your Will be done through us; May our lips be anointed; May our hearts be consecrated; Your Word shall not return to You void; It will accomplish the Purposes for which You sent it; Amen!

I proclaim in the name of Jesus Christ that none shall perish! Amen!

Lam Yee Ling

Not my will but Yours be done. Amen.
