Testimony

I texted a dear sister the flyer for ‘Nativity’ and invited her to come. The time was 12:05am in the early morning of Sunday, 25 Oct 2015. She asked me to reserve 4 seats. Hallelujah!

Then, I decided to paint my wreath – a handicraft that we are making for the mini fair on 8 Nov 2015. The time was 12:30am in the morning. I’m a ‘nocturnal’ creature – active ‘at night’ – um, I should say ‘early morning.

I took a picture, and another, and another … and sent them to the same dear sister in Christ at 12:50am.

At 2:46am, she responded, “Very nice!!”

At 2:47am, I texted her, “Goodness gracious! You’re awake!!!”

Her son was returning from overseas at 3:20am - that was why she has to be awake.

She asked me what "that pretty stuff" is for and I told her. She immediately ordered 3 wreaths - “I will give $nnn and U better go and rest.” The ‘deal’ was done at 2:56am and I went to sleep at 2:57am. I thank God for my iphone – it keeps a historical record that I may share this testimony of how amazing our God is.

When I was telling people that we are giving away books at the mini fair, two dear sisters said that they also have books to give away … “But, we are NOT collecting books …” I said. The Holy Spirit changed my perspective ... and I went back to these two dear sisters and told them that they can contribute their books. On Sunday, one of them gave me a love gift for this mission. I was amazed by her generosity. Thanks be to God!

Also on Sunday morning itself, before service, I was making myself a cup of coffee. When I opened the drawer, I saw an “Old Chang Kee” paper bag. Out of curiosity, I looked inside. Lo and behold, there were about 20 or more satay sticks. I was absolutely delighted!

Why am I so happy to see some inexpensive satay sticks? Because that is what we need for a game to be played on our mission trip. Whether we have big or small needs, our God provides. I believe! Yes, I believe! God is faithful in every way! He is forever faithful! His love never fails! His love is never ending! Never, never ever will His love end. It’s an Everlasting Love! He is an Everlasting God! I want to praise Him! I want to thank Him! I want to give Him all the glory! Truly, truly, our God provides our every need! Amen!

Song: One Thing I Ask (words and music by Andy Park)

One thing I ask, one thing I seek; That I may dwell in Your house Oh Lord; All of my days, all of my life; That I may see You Lord;

One thing I ask; One thing I desire; Is to see You;

Hear me Oh Lord, hear me when I cry; Lord do not hide Your face from me; You have been my strength; You have been my shield; And you will lift me up;

One thing I ask of You; One thing I seek; To be in Your presence Lord; To sit at Your feet …

My Prayer

Dear Abba Father,

One thing I learned through Rev Joe of RBTCS: “You need not strive. When you are striving, you are using your own strength. Ask for His grace. It is by His grace that we can continually serve Him in obedience and faithfulness.” Father, I thank You for providing us good teachers to teach Your Word.

In Philippians chapter 4, Apostle Paul said, “And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus” (verse 19). Father, I thank You for Your Word.

From the Epistles that Paul wrote, we can see that missionary work is neither a level road nor a bed of roses. Paul boasts about his sufferings:

Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one. Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea, I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my own countrymen, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false brothers. I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked. Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches …
— 2 Corinthians 11:24-28

For a man who suffered SO MUCH for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, he joyfully proclaimed that his God provides all his needs in Christ Jesus. How true! Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself owned nothing of this world but everything of heaven. Praise God!

Thank You for giving me the Holy Spirit. Indeed, He is teaching me all things! Indeed, He reminds me of everything You have commanded in Your Word. I shall listen and follow Jesus. I shall hear and obey. I want to live in the fear of the LORD at all times because I know that it is through Your discipline that I may become what You want me to become. Amen!

I pray for every brother and sister in Christ. May they desire to see You, love You and serve You with all their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Surely, You will never leave us nor forsake us. Surely, You are with us always, to the very end of the age (Matthew 28:20b).

We love You LORD! Amen!

His grace is sufficient for me (2 Corinthians 12:9).
