Quiet Time with Jesus – Desire

Friday, 23 October 2015

God created us with a mind to think … and the truth is: we think all the time. There is not one moment when the brain (our thinking machine) stops thinking (I think).

If we ask Him, God will give us the mind of Christ … and we will focus on Jesus Christ. God works in our brain - inspiring, influencing, imparting, and impacting us to make similar decisions as Jesus Christ.

Thinking includes desires … Kenneth Hagin Jr said, “It’s time we realized that we need to forget our desires for cars, money, and success. I believe in prosperity as strongly as anybody. I dress good; I drive good; I eat good; and I will continue to do so, because God’s Word says so … But the point is, we have become selfish with our faith, heaping blessing after blessing upon ourselves when there is a world out there that is lost, dying, and going to hell, bound in chains of sin, sickness, and disease – and we need to set it free.” Unquote

What are your desires? What is your greatest desire?

As for me, my desire is to be aware all the time that I am living an eternal spiritual life in a temporary physical body; my desire is to walk with God fully aware that the Spirit of God lives in me and guiding me 24/7; my desire is to honor God all the time in all circumstance.

My greatest desire is to finish well – to hear God say,

“‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
— Matthew 25:21

Song: This is my desire

This is my desire to honor You; Lord with all my heart I worship You; All I have within me I give You praise; all that I adore is in You; Lord I give You my heart; I give You my soul; I live for You alone; Every breath that I take; Every moment I’m awake; Lord have Your way in me … Amen!

My Prayer

Dear Father God

Come and search my heart … Like Peter who answered Jesus three times that he loved his Lord, I want to tell the whole world that I truly, truly love my LORD.

I pray not just for myself … I pray for ALL my brothers and sisters in Christ. You said that we are one in Christ. You said

“he Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.”
— Colossians 1:15-20

Help us – every one of us who love You and are living in Christ today and everyone who will come to love You and live in Christ in the future – to be in line with John 15:7, where Jesus said:

“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”
— John 15:7

Throw light on Your Word and let us ‘see’ the truth.

As we draw closer to You, reveal the truth that will set us free – to do Your Will.

In Jesus’ mighty name I pray.
