We cannot earn salvation by doing good works. It is by God’s grace that we are saved through faith in Christ Jesus. Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved (Joel 2:32). The Word of God says that there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).
God does not leave us unchanged after we confess that Jesus is Lord. If we ask Him, He will give us the Holy Spirit to guide us for the rest of our life on earth. The moment we invite Jesus into our heart, we begin afresh – a new life in Christ. Our journey may not be smooth but we have Christ in us and through Him, we can do all things. Amen! Glory to God!
A sister-in-Christ shared that her life seemed to get worse after she accepted Christ … And after many years of suffering, she realized that it is through all the tests and trials that she is strengthened in the Lord.
Let us be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Let us put on the full Armor of God so that we can take our stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 6:10-12)
Dear Father God
We do not preach a ‘bed of roses’ but we preach Christ - Your Amazing Grace - to a world heading for eternal destruction.
Your Word says that there will be terrible times in the last days. We are in the last days! People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God – having a form of godliness but denying its power. (2 Timothy 3:1-5)
To the church in Laodicea, You said,
Father, we repent! Forgive us, heal us and make us whole. Renew our minds, circumcise our hearts, and transform us from inside out so that the world may see and give You praise.
Your Word tells us not to be surprised at the painful trial we are suffering, as though something strange were happening to us. We rejoice that we participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that we may be overjoyed when His glory is revealed. If we suffer as Christians, we are NOT ashamed.
Father God, we are Your workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which You prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10) Help us to continue to do good, to exercise self-control and be alert. The enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Help us to resist him, standing firm in the faith, because we know that our brothers and sisters throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. (1 Peter 5:8-9)
We know that after we have suffered a little while, You will restore us and make us strong, firm and steadfast. Peace to all of us who are in Christ. Amen.
