Quiet Time with Jesus – Be purified

Friday, 2 October 2015

F. B. Meyer: Your salvation does not depend on what you are but on what He is. For every look at self, take ten looks at Christ.

Life application: Every time when I feel good about myself, I shall take one look at self and quickly turn my eyes upon Jesus ... see the Son of God who came from heaven above, who made Himself nothing, took on the very nature of a servant ...

Christ's obedience to the Father overwhelms me and once again, I am in that 'secret' place ...

E. M. Bounds: Obedience is love fulfilling every command.

God is LOVE. Jesus Christ, the Son of God demonstrated love in the most wonderful way. His obedience to the Father is loving and constant, always doing the Father's will, and always following the path of God's commands.

God's commands to His children are directed by love. His commands are in the best interests of His children. If we want to obey God, we must give up our own ways and follow God's way. Our ways may sometimes be good but His way is always the best. Glory be to God!

Charles F. Stanley: Obey God and leave all the consequences to Him.

O, how great is our God! How awesome is He!

My Prayer

Dear Father God,

I am convinced that our obedience to You makes us beneficiaries of Your grace.

Your grace is sufficient for us! Thank You LORD!

By the power of the Holy Spirit, we can love one another and consistently do Your will.

I believe Your peace and joy will follow us as we follow the path of Your commands.

Fill us with the Holy Spirit so that we can prepare our minds for action - be self-controlled and always set our hope fully on Your grace.

As Your obedient children, we will not conform to the evil desires we had when we lived in ignorance, but by the power of the Holy Spirit, we can be holy in all that we do.

It is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” Indeed, we are children of a HOLY GOD! Amen!

Father God, You judge each child’s work impartially. We shall live our lives as strangers here in reverent fear. We know that it is not with perishable things such as silver or gold that we are redeemed, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.

We are being washed by the Word and purified by the Blood.

Now that we have purified ourselves by obeying the truth so that we have sincere love for our brothers and sisters, we can love one another deeply, from a PURE heart, for we have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring Word of God.
