Quiet Time with Jesus – On Fire

Charles Spurgeon: Evangelism is ‘one beggar telling another beggar where to find bread.’
The Lausanne Covenant of 1974 calls ‘evangelism’ - ‘the whole church taking the whole gospel to the whole world.’
Apostle Paul said that he was in chains for Christ … “But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, CHRIST IS PREACHED. And because of this I rejoice ...” (Philippians 1:18)
Apostle Paul also said,
We must preach Christ to the nations because our God is the God of the nations.
Excerpt from ‘What Pastors want Christians to understand’
Rev Edwin Lam: The church, instead of being the guerilla unit that our Lord Jesus instituted it to be, has become largely a hospital maintenance unit. Instead of penetrating the world for Christ, we are preoccupied with damage control and treating the wounded. We are injured by scandal, immorality, criticism, pettiness and lukewarmness.
Satan is not happy when the Whole Church is united as One Army of God advancing His Kingdom. We must put on the full Armour of God and pray!
Matthew 16:18 tells us that the gates of hell will not prevail against the Church.
Therefore, I proclaim that the Whole Church built by our Lord, Jesus Christ is the most powerful entity in the whole world! Amen!
How can we be a Church that is worthy of the Lord?
Winston Churchill: I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat. When the British Parliament fearfully asked their Prime Minister, “What is our policy?”
Churchill answered, “It is to wage war … with all our might and with all the strength God will give us.” He had a passion for victory. We have a greater battle raging today – the battle for the souls of men and women. The battle will result either in eternal life for those who receive Christ or in eternal damnation for those who reject Him.
Satan tried to stop Him but Jesus never swerved from God’s purpose for Him.
When we draw near to God, we will hear His heartbeat. A fire will be lit. Let us fan the flame – the fire that God Himself lights up in our spirit.
Dear Father God
Whenever we see an unsaved soul, lead us in prayer for his salvation.
Help us to draw nearer to You that we may hear Your heartbeat. Light up a fire in us!
We want to seek You passionately, live prayerfully and serve You purposefully!
We want to be used by You for Your glory!
Fill us with the Holy Spirit. Teach us Your Word that we may walk in Your will always.
In Jesus’ mighty and glorious name, I pray.
