Quiet Time with Jesus – Passion, Prayer and Purpose

Sunday, 18 October 2015

When I visualize the different designs of pottery, I look at the potter … We are like pots shaped by the Potter ... We are different in design but we have the same destiny – our hope of glory in Christ.

We are all under the supremacy of Christ. The Bible says so. Read Colossians 1:15-20. Verse 17 says that He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

Disciples of Jesus Christ have the same motivation – LOVE. God is love. We are motivated and moved by Jesus’ kind of love, passionately drawing man back to the Father.

One day, we shall have a BIG reunion in heaven and we shall all sing “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.”

May God’s Will be done on earth as it is in heaven, in Jesus’ mighty name I pray. Amen.

Inspired by my Bible teacher, I wrote in my journal:

Every day, I want to seek God passionately, live prayerfully and serve purposefully. I want to live in reverence and awe - not just in church but everywhere because God is everywhere. He is omniscient. I want to watch my words and guard my actions. Everything that I do and say must glorify God. I want to live in reverence and awe not just on Sundays but every day of my life. Amen.

My Prayer

Dear Father God,

You are HOLY! Your standard of living is PERFECT. No one can meet Your ‘standard of living’. The world has a different definition for these three words. How foolish we are if we think like the world thinks. We serve an Eternal God. The things of the world will perish but not the things of God.

The Bible says,

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
— Isaiah 9:6

The Bible also says,

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, ‘Your God reigns!
— Isaiah 52:7

O Father in heaven, turn every thought of mine into a prayer. Stop me from gossiping and grumbling, criticizing and complaining. I do not want to live like the Israelites in Numbers 12, 13, 14, and 16. I do not want to be struck dead!

Sovereign LORD, let the desires of Your heart be mine too! Let the things that burden You burden me too! Let me want to see what You want to see. You and I want to see a transformed world. May the world return to Your original design. May Your Will be done on earth as it is in heaven!

In Jesus’ mighty and glorious name, I pray.

May every Christian seek God passionately, live prayerfully and serve purposefully. Amen.
